Biography 2004
 Roger
Dale Davies was born Oct 22 in Calgary Alberta. He received most of his
schooling in Calgary, first moving to Magrath when he was in Grade 11. He played
clarinet in the marching band and had many opportunities to use his vocal and
pianistic talents. He filled a mission to Montreal Quebec from 1976-1978 for the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and upon his return married Shauna
Rae Harrison, daughter of Merlin and Jolayne Harrison of Magrath. Shauna was
born in Winnipeg Manitoba. They have five daughters, Aubrey Lynn (1980), Ashley
Rae, (1981) Alyssa Beth (1983), Alison Jolayne (1985), and Adrien Hannah (1998).
In a futile attempt to balance the family male/female ratio, Aubrey married
Deric Olsen in Aug 1999 and Ashley married Kalani Clifton in Jan 2000. Aubrey
and Deric now have one daughter, Mailei Rane (the new years baby in Lethbridge
in 2002) and Ashley and Kalani also have a daughter, Megan Kainoa born Feb 2002.
While living In Edmonton (1980-1993), Roger received his Bachelor of Commerce
degree from the University of Alberta. He then worked ten years there for
Alberta Payroll and Pensions in the computer systems maintenance and development
departments before opting for 'early retirement' and moving to Magrath
(1993-present). They occupy the home his grandparents originally built and he
keeps busy running Soft Serve Direct - providing web design, computer
consulting and service / training within the Southern
Alberta area. He enjoys quartets and has developed and interest in drama,
both in acting and directing, as time permits. Roger works in his day-job at the
Magrath Pharmacy and spends most evenings and weekends fixing computer problems.
He has served on the local volunteer fire
department and with the Magrath Lions Club. In past volunteer church
assignments Roger has served as several years as membership and financial clerk
and as assistant stake clerk, as scout leader, as a youth teacher (very active
10 year olds). Shauna juggles being mom to a busy pre-school daughter and our
almost as busy older daughters. Shauna is the unofficial extended family
photographer and many scrapbooks and albums have benefited from her
thoughtfulness. As a hobby she collects toys and baby items. Shauna presently
serves as stake Young Woman's Secretary.
