Immigration: US-Canada. I was offered a job in the US the other day
.. (very tempting with our 50 cent dollar) .. but just part-time with most work easily
done via telecommuting, so don't worry - I'm still around to keep your computers going. It
got me thinking, however, about internet resources available to assist in the confusing
and arcane process of landing that job down in the States.
One page that may be of interest to those of you with recent roots to the US, explains
how many people may already be (eligible to claim) US Citizenship and just not know it.
This usually happens when a child is born of one or more US Citizen parents outside of the
US. Rules vary depending on the law in effect at the date of birth of said child, but if
your parents can claim this citizenship then you may be able to as well. See chart
summarizing general rules at: www.grasmick.com/citizen.htm
